Overview

This part of My Technology Space provides tools and checklists to think about you and your goals.

Goals are things you want to happen. For example:

  • learning new skills
  • getting a job or studying
  • doing activities in your community.

How to plan your goals

It can be hard to think about goals.

You can ask other people to help you plan your goals. For example:

  • your family or other key supporters
  • a friend
  • your support coordinator
  • an advocate - someone who speaks up for people with disability.

When you plan your goals think about what you:

  • like to do
  • want to change
  • want to try.

You can have:

  • short-term goals. These you can usually reach in 1 year. For example, learning to do more things on your own.
  • long-term goals. These can take a bit longer to reach, and can be things you want to work towards in the future. For example, moving out of home, or finding and keeping a job.

We have created a tool you can use to think about you and your goals.

You can download the tool below to find out more:

There are also some other tools and checklists you can use to plan your short-term and long-term goals.

You can use them to help you work out:

  • what roles you have in your life now
  • what activities and interests you have now or want to try
  • how connected you are to your community.

These tools and checklists could also help you think about any support you may need, which could include the use of assistive technology.
